Alerus Retirement and Benefits serves as the Recordkeeper for the JRB 403(b)(9) Retirement Plan. While Alerus works in the background to provide many services to the JRB, you are likely to interact directly with Alerus in two ways. Alerus produces your quarterly statements and hosts the website you use to:
- Access your JRB retirement account information
- Change your investments
- Review your quarterly statement
- Work with a variety of financial calculators
Alerus is a diversified financial services company that provides recordkeeping services to retirement plans such as the JRB. In 2020, as part of our fiduciary responsibility to you, the JRB Board of Trustees invited proposals from a variety of recordkeepers, including Alerus. After this competitive review, the Board decided to retain Alerus as the Plan’s Recordkeeper. In addition to their familiarity with the JRB, Alerus offered these advantages over the competition:
- Alerus can customize its operations to meet the JRB’s specific recordkeeping needs.
- Alerus offers enhanced website and communications services the JRB plans to roll out in 2021.
